Happy New Year?

Is it simply two more days on the calendar?

From today, Tuesday December 31, 2019, to tomorrow, Wednesday January 1, 2020, many people will consider it an opportunity to start a new. Or, is it simply like any other two days? Will something happen tonight at 12:01 am that allows for personal growth and maybe even greater hope?

Tonight does actually offer a do-over, a fresh start. So, what will we change in the coming year? What have we left behind and hope to never revisit? Have we learned something from our last 365 days that might improve our next?

Have we made the most of the last 12 months? Did we increase in our knowledge and gained greater wisdom? What have we learned? Let’s hope that day after day, week after week, and month after month we’ve paid attention to the lessons life offered. Are we a better spouse, parent, child, or friend?

Spiritually speaking… Have we answered questions about eternity or the difficulties of this life and why bad things happen to good people? May this year be the year we connect or reconnect with our Creator or continue growing in our relationship with Him.

May this be the year we all find God and a good church home (could be full of messed up people, just like us) where we can do life with others and gain encouragement and wisdom for this life. Here’s praying and hoping we all increase in wisdom, grow in many ways and apply the past year to a better and Happy New Year 2020!
